Amcor is one of the world's leading integrated packaging and paper companies operating more than 150 plants with 22,000 employees in 23 countries. Its cartonboard plant at Petrie produces the packaging for most packaged goods on supermarket shelves in Australia.
The first stage of the website needed to provide a large amount of detailed information to customers, integrate simple calculator functionality, and be available to customers 24x7 in order to administer customer orders. A secondary purpose of the site was to act as a source of information for school projects, which included a Flash-based educational presentation.
Later, a B2B facility was introduced for integrated customer ordering that passes information to a remote mainframe.
