The Gold
Coast City Council needed a web-enabled database to distribute information
about Gold Coast businesses.
Speedwell
planned and created a solution that allowed users to view a “business
snapshot” of companies within the Council area via a public-access
extranet facility. Features include:
- intuitive and branded interface whereby current
and potential customers and business partners could perform restricted
searches using a combination of key parameters such as industry sector,
organisation name and location;
- the ability for business users to manage and update
their own sub-set of information remotely through a web browser under
the moderation of Council staff;
- an opt-in database marketing tool that allows
the Council to extract email addresses and create an automated e-newsletter
campaign; and
- a choice of two “skins” (shown here)
for different target audiences. The system has been built to easily
scale for new departments within a short period of time.
